Indonesian president lauds China-built HSR
Indonesian President Joko Widodo, who recently traveled on the new Jakarta-Bandung High-speed Railway built by Chinese and Indonesian entities in a joint venture, said the 142.3-kilometer-long line will help boost domestic tourism and commerce. He called Indonesia and Southeast Asia's first HSR project, which opened on Sept 7, the pride of country's transport. As an achievement of the Belt and Road Initiative, the $8 billion project represents the first overseas foray of Chinese HSR technologies and incorporates the whole supply chain. China Railway No 4 Engineering Group Co Ltd built 27.55 km of the line.
CR24's overpass improves traffic
Traffic conditions in Yongqiao district of Suzhou, Anhui province, which is on the Beijing-Shanghai Railway route, have "significantly improved", thanks to the completion of a new livelihood project, the local government said in a notice on its website. The 1.4-kilometer Fangzhi overpass, completed by China Railway 24th Bureau Group Corp recently, was planned by the local government as a key infrastructure project to address traffic congestion in the district. It passes above two roads, two railway tracks and a canal.
