Tornadoes kill 10 in East China's Jiangsu

Ten people died and eight injured in tornadoes that struck two cities of Jiangsu province as of Wednesday afternoon, local authorities said.
A tornado hit the populous Daxing township and Nancai village of Suqian city during rush hour traffic at around 5:20 pm on Tuesday, killing five people and seriously injuring four others.
A total of 5,512 residents were affected by the disaster, 405 of whom have been evacuated temporarily. It also made 137 houses collapsed and 41.8 hectares of crops damaged, according to the city's department of emergency management.
Elsewhere, the Funing county of Yancheng city was also attacked by a tornado on Tuesday night, leaving five people dead and four with slight injuries. The number of locals affected reached about 1,364.
Currently, rescue operations, disaster statistics, post-disaster disposal, on-site cleanup and post-disaster reconstruction are underway.
