Anti-corruption watchdogs investigating senior railway official

Wang Yong, deputy general manager of the Beijing-Shanghai High Speed Railway Co., is under investigation for suspected violations of Party rules and national laws, anti-corruption watchdogs said Tuesday.
An inspection team of the top anti-graft watchdogs — the Communist Party of China Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and the National Commission of Supervision — stationed at the China State Railway Group announced the decision, in conjunction with the Shanxi Provincial Commission of Supervision. The team did not reveal details of the suspected violations.
Wang, 47, holds a master's degree in engineering. Before becoming deputy general manager of the company, Wang has long been engaged in the railway sector in Beijing. He once served as the head of Beijing Railway Station, Beijing South Railway Station, as well as deputy general manager of the China Railway Beijing Group.
The announcement came just one day after Yang Xucheng, deputy general manager of the China Railway Beijing Group, was put under investigation by the team stationed at CSRG.
