Experts gather for sustainable transport development program in Beijing

Nearly 30 transportation experts from 20 countries gathered in Beijing to attend the opening ceremony of an exchange program to promote global transportation sustainable development on Tuesday.
The program, sponsored by the Ministry of Transport and organized by the China International Center for Sustainable Transportation Innovation and Knowledge, will last for four weeks. It is the first of such programs organized by China.
A total of 26 participants from various countries, including transportation officials and scholars, will join classroom discussions and field researches, to engage in fruitful discussions, learn from each other's experiences, experience China's transport development and together, promote the progress of sustainable transportation worldwide.
"The primary objective of this program is to share China's knowledge and experience in sustainable transportation development, facilitating exchanges and the sharing of expertise among transportation professionals," said Dai Dongchang, the former vice transport minister, at the opening ceremony.
It aims to foster international cooperation in the field of transportation, particularly among developing countries, and contribute to the achievement of sustainable transportation goals worldwide, he added.
At the end of the program, participants will attend the Global Sustainable Transportation Summit (2023) and the 15th International Transportation Technology and Equipment Exhibition, which will be held at the end of this month.
