6 workers missing after mountain torrent hits Sichuan

Six people remain missing after a mountain torrent hit the Dengchang village of Jinyang county, Sichuan province, China Central Television reported.
The torrent, triggered by heavy rain, hit a construction site in the village at midnight, trapping 85 workers. By 1:30 pm, 79 people had been rescued. Rescue workers are searching for the six missing workers.
The Jinyang government launched an emergency response and organized more than 500 emergency, fire, medical, public security and township government personnel. It also strengthened on-site risk monitoring to avoid secondary disasters.
