Communist Youth League of China assists in flood control, disaster relief

BEIJING -- The Communist Youth League of China (CYLC) has thus far organized over 19,000 Youth Commandos and 2.34 million young volunteers to participate in flood control and disaster relief work across China, the CYLC Central Committee said Sunday.
Funds and materials with a combined worth of over 160 million yuan (about $22.35 million) have been secured to support flood control and disaster relief efforts nationwide, it added.
For instance, the CYLC Beijing Municipal Committee has mobilized over 5,000 volunteers, and 51 youth commandos to assist with tasks such as emergency rescue, hidden danger investigation, communication support, transfer of people, river dredging and more.
