There is no doubt China's development model is one of most successful in the world, Upul Wickramasinghe, a journalist from Sri Lanka, said in his new book Makara Deshaye Sita (From Dragon's Land).
Wickramasinghe spent 10 months in China in 2018 and visited more than 11 provincial-level regions. He visited the Great Wall and the Three Gorges Dam. He also tried the country's transport system including subways, bullet trains and bikeshares.
"Sri Lankan authorities should follow China's example and take measures to improve their poor public transport system," he said in the book.
