2nd CMG Forum held in Shanghai
SHANGHAI -- The second CMG Forum on Thursday opened in Shanghai, gathering representatives of international organizations, media institutions, think tanks and multinational companies to share their views on modernization.
Li Shulei, a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and head of the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee, attended the event's opening ceremony via video link and delivered a keynote speech.
The forum, with a theme of "Opening up, Inclusiveness, Mutual Benefit: Join Hands on the Path Towards Modernization," is co-hosted by the China Media Group (CMG) and the Shanghai Municipal People's Government.
More than 230 people joined the event either online or offline.
Participants agreed that Chinese modernization offers new opportunities for global development, and contributes Chinese approaches to the construction of a community with a shared future for humanity.
They noted that global media should shoulder due responsibilities and strengthen cooperation to promote people-to-people ties and mutual learning among civilizations.
