Snipers arrive for international friendly competition

Top snipers from 18 countries arrived at the venue on Thursday for the "Sharp Blade-2023" International Sniper Competition at a training base in Urumqi, capital of the Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region.
The competition, held by the Chinese People's Armed Police Force, consists of multiple competitive categories such as individual sniping and group sniping. Nearly 40 sniper teams from 18 countries, including Belarus, Pakistan, Kuwait, South Africa and the Dominican Republic, will participate.
Zhang Jian, deputy director of the Chinese PAP Force's Staff Department, said the competition will provide a platform for the Chinese armed force and its foreign counterparts to showcase their skills and learn from each other. It will also help to enhance counter-terrorism capabilities and boost international cooperation in combating global terrorist activities.
