Algerian president to make state visit on Monday

President of Algeria Abdelmadjid Tebboune will pay a five-day state visit to China starting Monday.
During the visit, President Xi Jinping will hold talks with Tebboune to jointly set out a blueprint for the development of bilateral relations and exchange views on global and regional issues of common concerns, Foreign Ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin said on Thursday.
It will be Tebboune's first visit to China since taking office.
China was the first non-Arab country to recognize the provisional government of the Algerian Republic, and the North African nation made an instrumental contribution to the restoration of China's lawful seat in the United Nations.
The two countries established a comprehensive strategic partnership in 2014, making it the first Arab nation to establish such a partnership with China.
Beijing looks forward to working with Algiers to enhance mutual trust, expand cooperation and deepen friendship through the visit, Wang said, adding he expects the two countries will jointly make greater contributions to promoting security and stability in the Middle East and strengthening unity and cooperation among developing countries.
