Man detained after vehicular assault caught on film
A man rammed his car into his wife and ran her over multiple times after a familial dispute in Dongying, Shandong province, on Monday, according to the local public security department.
The suspect surnamed Wang, 37, was caught on the spot. After a preliminary investigation, it was determined Wang killed his wife, a 38-year-old woman surnamed Zhang, after a domestic dispute, per a release from the Dongying Economic Development Zone sub-bureau of the Dongying Public Security Bureau on Tuesday.
Wang is being held in criminal detention, and the case is under further investigation.
Videos posted online show a black car running over a woman on the ground, with a fallen electric motorbike next to her. The black vehicle runs over the woman several times. At intervals, a man is seen getting out of the car to check her condition before getting back in to repeat his assault.
The local women's federation is following the incident and learning about the victim's family situation of to see what kind of case needs to be pursued, and will provide psychological counseling to children in the family, according to a report by Shangyou News.
