A man who killed a woman he had attempted to court was sentenced to death in Zhanjiang, Guangdong province on Monday.
The Intermediate People's Court of Zhanjiang handed down the verdict to the 30-year-old man, surnamed Huang, for intentional homicide.
The woman, 20 years old and surnamed Chen, was Huang's former coworker at a hotel in Zhanjiang. She was stabbed to death on a street in the city last December
Huang said at trial he felt he lost face and was unhappy after he was rejected, news website thepaper.cn reported.
After the killing, Huang planned to kill three other former coworkers, who he thought used to scold or criticize him.
He gave himself up to the police after his sister persuaded him to do so, and will appeal his death sentence.
