Zhou Qingyu, former deputy head of China Development Bank, has been placed under investigation on suspicion of seriously violating Party discipline and the law, the country's top anti-corruption watchdog said.
The Central Commission for Discipline Inspection of the Communist Party of China and the National Commission of Supervision disclosed the investigation on its website on Friday.
Zhou, a 61-year-old native of Henan province, had worked in China's banking system for many years. Public information shows that he served as head of the Agricultural Bank of China's branch in Guizhou province from 2002 to 2006, and later took over discipline inspection at China Development Bank in 2011.
He became deputy head of the development bank in 2016.
