World Health Expo to kick off in Wuhan
The 2023 World Health Expo will kick off in Wuhan, Hubei province on April 7, according to organizers. The date coincides with World Health Day.
The four-day expo will be jointly held by the Hubei provincial government, the National Health Commission and the Wuhan municipal government.
It is expected to attract more than 1,000 enterprises and a number of academicians, hospital administrators and experts to demonstrate new products and discuss developments in the field of health.
The first expo of its kind was held in 2019. Since then, the event has been held annually and is the only national-level expo in the sector.
Mao Qun'an, head of the commission's department of planning and information, said during a news conference on Sunday the health expo has become an important platform to strengthen communication and promote development of the health industry, and is conductive to deepening opening up of the health sector.
The opening day of this year's expo was chosen to overlap with World Health Day to spread awareness about healthy lives across society, he added.
