Li Nannan, NPC deputy and nursing home paramedic in Nantong, Jiangsu province

Paramedics are in short supply in China given its rising aging population, so after I was selected as an NPC deputy, I proposed providing paramedics with allowances and resuming the evaluation system. My proposal was warmly received by government bodies, and the qualification examination for paramedics was resumed in 2019. I hope more young people will see the good prospects presented by the nursing sector and develop good careers under an improved evaluation system.

Pan Yuping, CPPCC National Committee member and chairwoman of the Sichuan Provincial Federation of Taiwan Compatriots

A mechanism to distinguish malicious complaints from legitimate ones is needed. Once someone is determined to have made a malicious complaint and is suspected of committing a crime, they should be transferred to public security departments. Those determined to have made a malicious complaint but have no criminal involvement should be punished with a penalty, an administrative sanction or by being made to withdraw their complaint.

Jiang Guangping, CPPCC National Committee member and vice-chairman of the All-China Federation of Trade Unions

A compulsory policy regarding paid vacation time and tightening up management of company implementation of the policy is needed. Companies should not cancel paid vacation time and should be required to state why employees are unable to take paid leave in the event of special circumstances. The penalty for illegally canceling paid vacations should also be increased.

Zhang Tianren, NPC deputy and Party chief of Xinchuan village in Huzhou, Zhejiang province

With the country still facing significant pressure from the economic downturn and employment issues, it's important to draw up a plan to promote the street-vending economy. We can improve laws and regulations focusing on the management of street stands, including operator qualification evaluations, the examination of products and the issuance of business licenses.
