Surprise awaits astronaut returning to Earth
Liu Yang, one of the three Shenzhou XIV astronauts who returned to Earth on Sunday evening after a six-month mission, will be surprised by her parents when she returns home to Zhengzhou, Henan province.
Her mother, Niu Xiyun, has prepared a mystery gift box for Liu. It is reportedly filled with objects Liu had used or obtained since she was a little girl, including stickers she played with as a child, as well as multiple certificates, admission letters and awards.
"I will also make yangrouhuimian, or stewed noodles with mutton, for my daughter, which she loves most," Niu said.
Liu's parents are excited to see their daughter return to Earth. They have recorded every stage of the mission in space and paid attention to their daughter's movements since June.
