New Liaoning Party chief appointed


The Central Committee of the Communist Party of China has decided that Hao Peng will replace Zhang Guoqing as secretary, standing committee member and member of the CPC Liaoning Provincial Committee.
Hao, from Fengxiang, Shaanxi province, was born in July 1960.After graduating from Northwestern Polytechnical University, majoring in aeronautical systems engineering, he joined the Aviation Industry Corporation of China and then served as deputy mayor of Lanzhou, capital of Gansu province, in 2000, and then as vice-chairman of the government of Southwest China's Tibet autonomous region in 2003.
In 2013, Hao was appointed as governor of Qinghai province. Three years later, he was appointed as the Party chief of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council.
Zhang Guoqing was elected as a member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee in October.
