Two dead after heating pipe accident in Beijing

Two people were confirmed dead and another was rescued after a heating supply pipe accident at a residential community in Chaoyang district of Beijing on early Sunday, according to a statement released by the district's fire and rescue detachment.
After receiving an emergency call at 4:07 am on Sunday, the 119 center dispatched professional staff from three nearby fire stations to deal with the accident, which occurred at a half-basement residence in the community, the statement said.
Three people were trapped by leaking water and they were transported to a hospital after rescue.
Two died shortly afterward, and the other is in stable condition. Investigations into the accident are underway.
