Qi, competing with three Italian marksmen in the medal match, made 29 hits to claim the title, two more than Lorenzo Ferrari. Daniele Resca took the bronze.

The victory marked the first time a Chinese shooter has stood atop the World Cup men's trap podium since 1996.
