Man held for hostage-taking in Shanghai hospital

A man holding a knife to a hostage at the Ruijin Hospital was shot and arrested by Shanghai police, said the police bureau of the city's Huangpu district on its official Weibo account.
The incident occurred at about 11:30 am on Saturday on the seventh floor of the hospital's main building. A police officer shot and arrested the man who was attempting to hurt the hostage and policemen.
Four other people were injured and were receiving medical treatment. All the injuries are not life threatening, according to the police.
An investigation is underway and the motivation of the attack remains unknown, said the police.
