Large quantities of bronze artifacts unearthed from sacrificial pit

The archaeological excavation of No 8 sacrificial pit at the Sanxingdui site in Guanghan, Sichuan province, is underway. As the biggest sacrificial pit of the 6 pits (No 3 to No 8), No 8 pit has most of the cultural artifacts. Nearly 70 pieces of human head-shaped bronze sculptures have been unearthed. A large number of other bronze artifacts, such as bronze altars, large-sized bronze beast resembling robotic dog, bronze dragon, and other animal-shaped bronze statues have been excavated as well.
