Work on culture, historical data highlighted at gathering

The National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, or CPPCC, held a symposium about the work on culture and historical data on June 23 and 24 in Beijing.
Wang Yang, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and chairman of the CPPCC National Committee, attended the closing ceremony and delivered a speech.
Wang said the CPPCC's work on culture and historical data had made great achievements, with a better work mechanism, deep integration of the work and CPPCC members' performance of duties, a functional service system, and lasting social effects, since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China in 2012.
He said it is important to motivate CPPCC members to play active roles in the work on culture and historical data. Departments at all levels within the CPPCC National Committee should work closely with each other, strengthen communication, and improve their work mechanism, he added.
Zhang Qingli and Liu Qibao, vice-chairpersons of the CPPCC National Committee, hosted the symposium. Li Bin, vice-chairman of the CPPCC National Committee, attended the conference.
Liu Xincheng, vice-chairman of the CPPCC National Committee, introduced the achievements around the work on culture and historical data across China.
Fifteen CPPCC members from across the country gave keynote speeches in which they shared their local work experiences relating to culture and historical data.
