Chinese firms, Ethiopia ink transportation deals
Authorities in Ethiopia's capital Addis Ababa have concluded $29.17 million in transportation modernization agreements with two Chinese firms, the Ethiopian Press Agency reported on Tuesday. The first agreement worth $15 million will see the Addis Ababa government purchase 110 buses from China's Yutong over an eight-month period, EPA reported. The second agreement, a $14.17 million plan to modernize the city's public bus transportation system with advanced digital information devices, was signed between the city and Hisense TransTech Co Ltd.
More sectors available for Taiwan residents
The Chinese mainland has further expanded market access for Taiwan residents, allowing them to start individually owned businesses in 122 sectors, compared with the previous 24. The move marks the latest effort to help Taiwan residents seek employment and enjoy development opportunities on the mainland, Zhu Fenglian, a spokesperson for the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council, said at a news conference on Wednesday.
