Provincial regions dispatching medical teams to fight outbreaks in Jilin

China has dispatched medical teams to the cities of Jilin and Changchun in Jilin province to help curb the local COVID-19 outbreaks, Jiao Yahui, head of the Bureau of Medical Administration of the National Health Commission, said in a news conference on Tuesday.
A team from Heilongjiang province that specializes in treating severe COVID-19 patients has arrived in Jilin, along with three other medical teams from the provinces of Henan and Jiangxi and the Inner Mongolia autonomous region, she said.
These experts will not only be responsible for treating severe and critical patients, but will also travel to makeshift hospitals and designated hospitals to aid treatment. This will allow them to promptly identify any patient who is at risk of progressing into more severe conditions, she said.
These efforts will improve the overall effectiveness of treatment, she said.
According to the Changchun government, as of Monday, 1,014 medical workers and over 25,000 metric tons of medical supplies have arrived in the city.
