Luo: Xi's message guides HK's anti-pandemic efforts

Luo Huining, director of the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in Hong Kong, said on Friday that President Xi Jinping's instructions showed the way for Hong Kong's anti-pandemic work, stressing that confidence, unity and action are the keys to overcoming the tough battle.
Recently, Xi expressed great concern about the city's pandemic situation and asked the special administrative region government to control the outbreak by all means possible.
The words have boosted Hong Kong society's confidence and given strong momentum to the fight, Luo said in an online video meeting with leaders of various Hong Kong sectors.
Luo noted that the communities have actively responded to the State leader's call, citing the efforts made by government officials, lawmakers, medical workers, social groups and enterprises.
He stressed that to overcome the virus, Hong Kong people need to boost confidence, strengthen solidarity, and act promptly.
During the meeting, 11 representatives from the business, property, transportation, and political sectors committed themselves to offer wide-ranging support, such as in hotel quarantine, ensuring medical supplies and daily necessities, and increasing testing capacity.
