Trade in Anhui's pilot FTZ robust

The pilot free trade zone in East China's Anhui province generated foreign trade of over 110 billion yuan ($17.3 billion) in the first three quarters of this year, accounting for 22 percent of the province's total. Paid-in foreign investment in the zone reached $1.58 billion during the period, accounting for 10 percent of the province's total, according to the administration office of the China (Anhui) Pilot Free Trade Zone. Established in September 2020 with three subzones in the cities of Hefei, Wuhu and Bengbu, the Anhui pilot FTZ has become a high-level opening-up and development platform.

Logistics market expands in Jan-Nov

China's logistics market continued to expand in the January-November period this year, despite the sporadic resurgence of COVID-19 cases, data from the China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing showed. Total value of goods in the sector was 288.8 trillion yuan ($45.34 trillion) in the 11-month period, up nearly 10 percent year-on-year. The logistics demand for imports shrank 0.2 percent year-on-year over the 11-month period, although it rebounded in November with a year-on-year growth of almost 9 percent.

Cultural industry grows steadily

China's cultural and related sectors saw solid growth in 2020 despite COVID-19 shocks, official data showed. Before deducting the price factor, the sectors' added value went up 1.3 percent from one year earlier in 2020 to hit around 4.5 trillion yuan ($705.2 billion), taking up about 4.43 percent of the national gross domestic product, according to the National Bureau of Statistics. In breakdown, the cultural content creation and production sector gained momentum in 2020, with its added value logging an 11.1 percent year-on-year increase to 1.03 trillion yuan.
