China has established a nationwide platform to record information of more than 57 million low-income people, to strengthen aid accordingly in case they return to poverty, according to the Ministry of Civil Affairs.

As of the end of September, China lifted more than 2.4 million people out of poverty, but they still were prone to becoming impoverished again, according to the ministry’s recent teleconference.

In February, China announced that it had successfully eradicated absolute poverty. This year, the ministry has begun to set up a national dynamic platform to record the population who are prone to return to poverty, such as those with serious disease. A safety net will be provided to help those people accordingly.

The meeting set the goal for the next year to continue improving the platform.
