The Beijing-Shanghai high-speed railway raised 15.1 billion yuan ($2.3 billion) revenue in the first half of this year or 50.3 percent more from that of a year ago. And its net profit surged 417.28 percent year-on-year to 2.74 billion yuan during the same period, the listed Beijing-Shanghai High Speed Railway Co Ltd said on Monday.

Thanks to the decreasing impact of COVID-19, the railway linking the capital with the eastern coastal economic hub of Shanghai handled 18.76 million passengers trips from January to June, up 95.6 percent year-on-year.
