China-trained soccer phenom joins Germany club
An American soccer player partially raised and developed in China recently signed a contract with a club in Germany.
Sterling Seyedin, who was once under contract with the Chinese Super League Club Guangzhou City FC in Guangdong province, began wearing the colors of 1.FC Duren this week.
"I am very pleased that our still-young club has found the interest of such a talented player, to whom all doors are open internationally," Duren president Wolfgang Spelthahn said.
The 20-year-old Seyedin, who stands 175 centimeters tall, was spotted in training.
"I can hardly wait for the moment when I can play in the Duren jersey for the first time," said the left-foot Seyedin, who can play at various positions in midfield.
"I prefer to play in the right midfield," he said.
An agile left-foot player can pull inward and look for the end with his strong foot.
"It has great potential," FCD sports director Dirk Ruhrig said. In order to access this, Seyedin should first be brought in via the U23, he said.
