Truck smashes into bus in Liaoning; 8 dead

Eight people died when a truck crossed into the opposing lane and struck a bus at 4:35 pm on Thursday on the Liaoning Central Ring Highway, in Shenyang, Liaoning province, the Shenyang public security bureau reported.

Local traffic police scrambled to the scene, together with firefighters and medical personnel, in an attempt to save lives.

The cause of the crash is being investigated.
