After showing identification and body temperature measurements, a visually-impaired student, Wang Guangbin, walked into a designated testing center in Guangzhou, Guangdong province, with the assistance of volunteers to take one of the most important tests of his life.
Wang, from Guangzhou Miqing School, a vocational school for visually impaired students, became the only one on Monday in Guangdong to take the national college entrance examination, or gaokao, in Braille.
"He is also the first one in Guangzhou to take the examination in Braille," said Tang Hongwu, director of the Guangzhou recruitment and examination commission.
