Lukaku named MVP of 2020-21 Serie A
ROME - Inter Milan's striker Romelu Lukaku has been named as the Most Valuable Player of the 2020-21 Serie A season, Italy's top-flight football league revealed on Monday.
In addition to Lukaku's awards, the Lega Serie A also named this season's Best Under 23, Best Goalkeeper, Best Defender, Best Midfielder, and Best Striker.
Lukaku provided 24 goals and 11 assists last season, in which Inter won the Scudetto after 11 years, ending Juventus' dominance. Another Inter player Nicolo Barella won the best midfielder.
Cristiano Ronaldo was awarded the best striker, as the talisman of Juve topped the scoresheet with a tally of 29 goals.
The best goalkeeper went to AC Milan shot-stopper Gianluigi Donnarumma who is on an expiring contract and linked to a move to Juve or Barcelona.
Elsewhere, Fiorentina's starlet Dustan Vlahovic won the best Under 23, while Atalanta's Cristian Romero picked up the best defender.
