Plague warning issued in Inner Mongolia

Erenhot, Inner Mongolia autonomous region, issued a level IV warning for bubonic plague on Monday after an infected Daurian ground squirrel was captured.
The local center for disease control in Erenhot said the warning will remain in effect until the end of December.
The infected ground squirrel (Spermophilus dauricus), was captured on April 22 along the G208 national road. It tested positive for plague on April 23 and showed positive again in a second test on Sunday.
