5 dead in 1 household; suspect detained

A 33-year-old suspect, surnamed Jiang, from Jixi, Heilongjiang province, was detained by police in Tianjin on Saturday in connection with the deaths of five people in a single household.

The killings took place in the Weitang community in Jiashan county of Jiaxing, Zhejiang province on Saturday. An elderly person, 70 years old, was seriously injured, according to the Jiashan police.

The police did not say how the people were killed. The injured person is being treated in an intensive care unit of a local hospital.
