Survey: 4 in 5 HK residents support 'patriots governing HK'
Over 80 percent of Hong Kong residents interviewed in a local survey agreed that "patriots governing Hong Kong" must be followed in order to fully and faithfully implement the city's "one country, two systems" framework.
The survey, conducted by a local public opinion research center for Hong Kong-based Bauhinia Magazine, also found that around 75 percent of those interviewed agreed that there are apparent loopholes and risks in Hong Kong's electoral system.
The survey results showed that 72.3 percent agreed that the city should improve its electoral system.
On the other hand, 68.6 percent expressed support for the National People's Congress to improve the city's electoral system in accordance with the law in this year's two sessions which began on Thursday.
The survey was conducted Feb 27-March 3 via telephone interviews with 1,078 respondents.
