BEIJING -- A Chinese government spokesperson on Thursday said the Democratic Progressive Party authority in Taiwan will only get hoisted by its own petard if it unrepentantly sticks to the road to ruin.
Zhu Fenglian, a spokesperson for the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council, made the remarks in response to a question about the participation of a so-called "Taiwan representative" in the U.S. president's inauguration.
Any tricks or excuses by the DPP authority will not conceal its hidden agenda of seeking "Taiwan independence," Zhu said.
She voiced firm opposition to any official interaction between the United States and China's Taiwan, urging the US side to adhere to the one-China principle and the three China-US joint communiques.
