Sixth, new opening-up structure
The new opening-up structure will be shaped with substantial growth of the country's strengths in international economic cooperation and competition. Measures will be taken to facilitate trade and investment and promote the development of the Belt and Road Initiative to raise the level of opening-up and deeply integrate with the global economy.

Seventh, common prosperity
The session proposed to further promote common prosperity, with the aim to expand remarkably the size of the middle-income group, ensure equitable access to basic public services, and significantly reduce disparities in urban-rural development, in development between regions, and in living standards. By 2035, the per capita GDP will reach the level of moderately developed countries.

Eighth, meeting the needs of an aging population
The session proposed to actively address the problems brought by an aging society.
The 14th Five-Year Plan period will be a key period of opportunity for China to tackle the problem of an aging society. In the next five years, the country's citizens aged 60 or above are expected to hit 300 million. The country will strive to provide more tiered, individualized, and quality care services to elderly people.

Ninth, modernization of national defense and military
The session proposed to accelerate the modernization of national defense and military.
As 2027 will mark the 100th anniversary of the founding of the people's army, the meeting underlined the need to strengthen combat readiness to improve the strategic capability of safeguarding the country's sovereignty, security and development interests.
