9 killed, 6 injured in NE China car accident
Nine people were killed and six injured in a motor vehicle accident on Monday morning in Wuchang, a county-level city under the administration of Harbin, capital of Northeast China's Heilongjiang province, CCTV News reported.
The tragedy took place at 11:10 am at the 33 kilometer marker on Shanchang Road of the city, the report said, adding that the car, which had seven seats, was overloaded with 15 passengers.
Due to the improper behavior of the driver, the car crashed into trees in a ditch on the right side of the road, killing eight people instantly and injuring one person who later died in a hospital, it said.
The other six people injured in the crash did not have life-threatening injuries and are receiving treatment in a hospital, People's Daily reported.
