Zoo visitors in Wuhan engage as panda turns 5

A giant panda named Chunqiao recently celebrated her fifth birthday at the Wuhan Zoo in Hubei province. It was her second birthday at the zoo.
At 9:30 am on Saturday, feeders presented Chunqiao with what they called a birthday cake — two layers of bamboo leaves and five bamboo shoots.
On the bottom of the cake were various vegetables and fruits, including watermelons, carrots, pumpkins, apples and bananas, making it both colorful and nutritious.
Sniffing the cake for a while, Chunqiao nibbled first on an apple, her favorite. The cake was soon broken into pieces and finished up.
