HOHHOT - The first flood peak of the year on the Yellow River in North China has caused damages on a 2,100 meter-long embankment section in Dengkou county, Inner Mongolia autonomous region.

Zhang Jun, deputy director of the water resources bureau of Dengkou, said that the flood peak caused collapses of the shore protection embankment, and the danger continues.

The water flow in the Dengkou section of the Yellow River was measured at 1,760 cubic meters per second on Saturday.

Efforts are continuing to repair and protect the affected embankment section, and round-the-clock patrols are enhanced along the river's embankments in other sections.
