Infection found at Beijing construction sites
Three people on two construction sites in Beijing have been confirmed as of Sunday as COVID-19 patients, and the sites were locked down, Ding Sheng, deputy director of Beijing Municipal Commission of Housing and Urban-Rural Development said at a news conference on Monday.
The capital has investigated 435 construction projects in 16 districts and tested a total of 1,622 people, including 743 people who had been to Xinfadi wholesale market and 879 delivery personnel related to the market, Ding said.
The body temperature of all workers is being monitored.
"June is the usual peak for construction projects. But given that confirmed cases of coronavirus appeared on construction sites recently, combined with the high density of workers on the sites, the commission is urging resolute measures to stem the spread," he said.
