HK residents turn out in droves for petition against foreign interference

More than 273,000 residents had signed an online petition (joint-petition.signforhk2020.com) as of 3 pm Wednesday, denouncing foreign interference in Hong Kong's internal affairs.
The campaign was launched on Monday by the city's political leaders, including Tam Yiu-chung, a member of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, and Regina Ip Lau Suk-yee, a lawmaker and former security chief.
