Chinese mainland reports no new domestically transmitted COVID-19 cases

BEIJING -- Chinese health authority said Wednesday that no new domestically transmitted COVID-19 cases were reported on the mainland Tuesday.

The Chinese mainland reported three new imported COVID-19 cases Tuesday, bringing the total number of imported cases to 1,786, the National Health Commission said Wednesday.

Of the three imported cases, two were reported in Inner Mongolia autonomous region and one in Tianjin, the commission said.

Of all the imported cases on the mainland, 1,732 had been discharged from hospitals after recovery, and 54 remained hospitalized.

No deaths related to the disease were reported Tuesday, said the commission, adding that one suspected case from overseas was reported in Shanghai.

Six COVID-19 patients were discharged from hospitals after recovery on the Chinese mainland Tuesday, the National Health Commission said Wednesday.

There were 55 patients still being treated, the commission said in its daily report.

Altogether 78,357 patients had been cured and discharged from hospitals by Tuesday, the report said.

As of Tuesday, 83,046 confirmed COVID-19 cases had been reported on the mainland, including 4,634 who had died of the disease.
