Quake jolts county in Yunnan; students calm

Four people died and at least 24 others were injured when a magnitude-5 earthquake jolted Qiaojia county in Yunnan province late on Monday, the province's emergency authorities said on Tuesday.
Rescue teams rushed to the quake zone. More than 500 local rescuers were quickly involved in relief work, according to a notice on the WeChat account of the provincial publicity department.
The quake struck at 9:47 pm on Monday. The epicenter, at a depth of 8 kilometers, was 27.18 degrees north latitude and 103.16 degrees east longitude, according to the China Earthquake Networks Center.
A video showing an orderly evacuation of students from a middle school gained praise from netizens nationwide. The students remained calm but moved swiftly in a way they had rehearsed before, according to a clip on Pear Video, a popular streaming app.
The students sang and and recited Chinese poems on the school's playground to maintain stable emotions, the video said.
