HOHHOT -- A 300-meter country road in Ordos, northern China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region, has been rebuilt into one that can "sing" when vehicles pass through.
The road, located at Ejin Horo Banner, is about 14 km away from the Genghis Khan Mausoleum, a national cultural heritage site.
Engineers said that when driving along the musical road at a speed of about 40 km per hour, people can hear the melody of "Ode to the Motherland" as vocal slots with different intervals and depths were installed on the pavement.
The musical road was open on May 5. It is expected to add charm to the local tourism.
