Senior official stresses rectification of problems in poverty relief

BEIJING - Hu Chunhua, a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, has called for harder work to rectify problems in poverty relief to secure an all-round victory in the battle against poverty.

Hu, also chief of the State Council leading group of poverty alleviation and development, made the remarks at a video conference on poverty relief held here on Thursday.

When problems are found, the rectification plans should be mapped out to promote the timely and effective solution of the problems one by one, he said.

More should be done to overcome the new difficulties and challenges brought by the epidemic to poverty alleviation and give priority to supporting the disadvantaged to find jobs, Hu said.
