BEIJING - Chinese State Councilor Zhao Kezhi Wednesday urged efforts in solving prominent drug problems as well as improving the drug control system and capacity.
Zhao, also director of the China National Narcotic Control Committee, made the remarks at a national teleconference on drug control.
Stressing various major tasks of drug control this year, Zhao urged preventing drugs from entering the country, improving drug rehabilitation work and stepping up the crackdown on drug manufacturing.
More efforts should be focused on areas with severe drug problems as well as poverty-stricken regions with drug problems, Zhao added.
