Colombian defender Aguilar joins Athletico Paranaense
RIO DE JANEIRO - Colombian defender Felipe Aguilar has joined Athletico Paranaense after parting ways with their Brazilian Serie A rivals Santos.
The 27-year-old signed a four-year contract after completing a medical exam at Athletico's training base in the southern Brazilian city of Curitiba on Wednesday.
"I heard about the club's interest in me and I know about their history and what they have achieved in recent years," Aguilar said in comments published on Athletico's official website.
"After looking closely at the opportunity, I decided to accept the proposal. I'm motivated to do well here."
Aguilar made 39 appearances for Santos after joining the club from Atletico Nacional in January 2019.
The center-back has been capped three times for Colombia's national team and was a part of the Atletico Nacional side that won the 2016 Copa Libertadores, South America's top club competition.
