NHC Update: Total Cured and Discharged Cases Surpass 30,000

1. Between 00:00 and 24:00, 26 February, the following were newly reported by the 31 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps:

a) 433 confirmed cases;

b) 29 fatal cases (including 26 in Hubei, 1 in Beijing, Heilongjiang and Henan respectively);

c) 508 suspected cases;

d) 2,750 cured and discharged cases;

e) 12,823 close contacts released from medical observation; and

f) 406 fewer severe cases.

2. As of 24:00, 26 February, the following had been reported by the 31 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps:

a) 43,258 confirmed cases (including 8,346 severe cases) still under treatment;

b) 32,495 cured and discharged cases;

c) 2,744 fatal cases;

d) 78,497 confirmed cases;

e) 2,358 suspected cases; and

f) 652,174 close contacts traced (including 71,572 still under medical observation).

3. Between 00:00 and 24:00, 26 February, the following were newly reported by Hubei:

a) 409 confirmed cases (including 383 in Wuhan);

b) 2,288 cured and discharged cases (including 1,535 in Wuhan);

c) 26 fatal cases (including 19 in Wuhan); and

d) 403 suspected cases (including 341 in Wuhan).

As of 24:00, 26 February, Hubei had reported:

a) 39,755 confirmed cases (including 32,392 in Wuhan) still under treatment;

b) 7,984 severe cases (including 7,049 in Wuhan);

c) 23,200 cured and discharged cases (including 13,328 in Wuhan);

d) 2,641 fatal cases (including 2,104 in Wuhan);

e) 65,596 confirmed cases (including 47,824 in Wuhan); and

f) 2,019 suspected cases (including 1,459 in Wuhan).

4. As of 24:00, 26 February, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan had altogether reported 133 confirmed cases:

a) 91 (including 24 discharged cases and 2 fatal cases) in the Hong Kong SAR;

b) 10 (including 7 discharged cases) in the Macao SAR; and

c) 32 (including 5 discharged cases and 1 fatal case) in the Taiwan region.
