Kinetic sport pictograms unveiled for Tokyo Olympic Games

TOKYO - A series of kinetic sports pictograms were unveiled on Wednesday for the Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Games, the first time in the history of the Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Organizers of the Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Games said that 50 of the pictograms cover 33 Olympic sports and 23 covers 22 Paralympic sports.
The kinetic sports pictograms appear as a series of three movements: appear, static, and disappear.
The Tokyo 2020 sports pictograms were announced early last year marking the 500-day countdown to the Olympics.
Static sports pictograms were also first introduced by the Japanese at the Tokyo 1964 Games.
The kinetic sports pictograms will be used to depict individual sports at competition venues and during the broadcast of events.
